I was reading through a shoe industry magazine this morning and there was an article about improving customer service. Sounds like it would be helpful, right? So I dove into it and the first type of “problem customer” is “Discount Divas”.

According to the article,

“When someone says [to you] that ‘$300 for a pair of shoes is crazy,’ point out the benefits of a better quality shoe and where it’s made; [identify] anything that will differentiate it from a typical product.”…”encourage the customer to pamper herself”…”justify it’s the ‘in’ item”…

But I think that…$300 FOR A PAIR OF SHOES IS CRAZY!!! And I think there are too many retailers out there trying to feed honest consumers like you load of [insert whatever you want here].

Seriously, if you can get a shoe for $25 made from one country. Is a similar shoe worth $275 more if it’s made from another country? And differentiating the product, pamper encouragement, and ‘in’ item all sounds like excuses.

I say…with $300… pamper yourself with 12 pairs of shoes for around $25 each. That’s one for each month for the rest of the year! =)
